Not dead. Also, science.

Hello, internets!

Just a brief note to let everyone who reads this blog (so, me and my split personality, Captain Spatula-Q of the Fourth Dimension) that I still breathe. I’ve been crossing swords with 1L exams since the 28th, and take the last one tomorrow. Can’t believe I’m about to be done with one whole year of law school. Where did the last ten months go? It’s certainly been a wild ride, at any rate.

While reading a snarky* article about the use of the exclamation mark in modern prose and written communication, came across a reference to an article entitled “Gender and the Use of Exclamation Points in Computer-Mediated Communication: An Analysis of Exclamations Posted to Two Electronic Discussion Lists,” published in the Journal of Computer-Mediated Communications**. I was a computer science major and political science minor, and took a couple sociology courses on race and gender equality, and a political science class on women and politics. I kinda really dig this stuff. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to read the article right now, but I plan to eventually, so I figured I’d put it here to remind myself and perhaps direct any other interested persons to it.

* My spellcheck says “snarky” is not a word. What foul strategery is this, Language Lords?

** Didn’t know this journal existed, either. It sounds awesome.
